We’ve been coming to North Hollywood Auto Repair for over a decade, and have always felt we’ve received straight-forward, reliable advice and excellent work from the team here. Jack used to take care of us, now Dan owns the place and upholds the same excellent standards. John handled our most recent visit, a mystery drain on the battery of my 2004 4Runner. I got a reasonable up-front quote on the detective work, and then a call the next day with the discovered issue and concrete pricing on options for fixing, including the name and number of another business who could offer more specific services I needed (a new radio). Just overall, very grateful to always have these guys standing by if/when we have car issues.

Dan is a fantastic owner and very honest to work with in this industry. His knowledge and options are rare to find in the car maintenance space. Highly recommended! John who runs the scheduling and coordinating is polite and very easy to get feedback from!

Engine warning light came on. Brought over and John read the codes. It didn’t require immediate attention so we scheduled an appointment. A more in-depth inspection revealed a problem which they quickly solved. Good guy. Fair and honest.

I came in here because the charging thing for my car wasn’t working and my mechanic was sick so he couldn’t fix it for me. The ginger guy I met in here was extremely rude, and when I asked when it could get fixed, today is 8th of March, he said the 24th in an arrogant manner. Your attitude is what would cause the business to run down, why would I wait until the 24th when I could get it done with other reasonable, sensible and respectful mechanic.

John and Dan are very friendly and extremely helpful. They do fast repairs at a fair price.

Overall grade: A+++. I’ve used North Hollywood Auto for over 30 years and their service is top-notch. I take my car in twice yearly for a general inspection as well as those “surprise issues” that crop up (e.g. the engine light comes on and stays on). They have never failed to diagnose and fix an issue the first time. They take appointments, give a discount for AAA members, and are straight shooters when it comes to the repair cost. Who could ask for anything more?
