I've been taking a cherry 2001 Tacoma to Dan (and Jack in the prior yrs) since 2011. In that time the truck hasn't burned a drop of oil, leaked a drop (OK it leaked once or twice but they found it and fixed it straight away), failed a smog check, or left me stranded. I'm the one generally trying to upsell them: Do the breaks need replacing? Time for a valve job? Johson rods need tuning? .... and they come back with (90%): "Not yet, just filters and fluids". For the rare occasions where specialized repairs/services are needed, and others may have that specialized expertise, they refer you to the honest reputable providers in the neighborhood, rather than tackling something they're not best suited for. I'll also they vehicle was complete when they said it would, every time. For these reasons I gladly give them a Five-Star rating.

I’m so glad I found North Hollywood Auto! Dan is the best! My car unexpectedly broke down and was towed here and I am so glad this is where we brought it because Dan and the guys were so nice, thorough, friendly and really know their stuff. The price the most reasonable I’d had from a mechanic in years and the service was so much better! These are my go-to guys from now on.

Favorite shop in the Valley! Dan and John are the best! I’ve mostly worked with Dan through the years. His patience and genuine concern are a comfort when that engine light comes on. He always steers me in the right direction regardless of if they can profit. They’re busy, so turnaround can be slow depending on the extent of diagnostic or repair but I feel safe in their hands. They don’t talk down to women or look for ways to gouge you. Just honest, knowledgeable guys, good at their jobs, there to keep you running safe on the road.

First experience with Dan and his job when my car one morning decided to not-go-no-mo when I tried to leave my home and I looked for a nearby shop for AAA to drag my lifeless car-cass to. At that time, it was my starter not doing its thing. That’s an expensive matter no matter where you go. What I appreciated about this shop, and what led to me coming back for other checks and repairs, was the quality of service. Professional, flexible, kind, and patient people. Because of issues with repairs in my past, I make damn sure I’m involved in every step and ask a lot of questions, because I want to understand what is being recommended, why, and reasons for doing it now vs later. Both Dan and John took the time to talk to me and explain things in as much details as I was willing to listen to, and they did so with respect. No sighing, no eye rolls, no upselling, no wishywashy-ness. Good service, good people, and actual results.
