So, my car blows up on Coldwater Canyon Tuesday, I end up blocking traffic in both directions, as my car not only "blows up" but it does it on a curve! A million people are upset with me shouting vulgarities like "get your piece of s%$t out of the road, to "hey, are you married?". . . I then wait 2.5 hours for AAA to come tow me (which is a whole other review!), but then a light of sunshine in my horrific Tuesday morning peaks through the clouds - AAA tows me to this place! I'm far away from home (West Hills), have never heard of these guys, but at this point I don't care who fixes my car. . . . Because they are the closest certified AAA repair shop, my luck starts to change. I get Jack on the phone who is the coolest cat I have come across in a car repair situation in about . . . . well. . EVER! You can tell he is honest and has integrity right off the bat. They look at my car as soon as it gets there, and call me a rental car company that is a smaller one than Enterprise and private, but they assure me I am in good hands when I raise my eyebrows at this idea. That place gets me a rental car in warp-speed (for about half the price of Enterprise), and Jack is busy trying to figure out why my relatively durable and dependable ride has blown up in the middle of the busiest canyon rode in LA! The next morning, they have my car diagnosed, they take the time to explain it to me, they don't treat me like "a woman" (i.e., taking advantage of the fact that I have lady parts and probably know NOTHING about cars!), they don't talk down to my like I'm a child, and actually make the whole experience "process-able". Saed at the front counter is his own little ray of sunshine with a positive attitude and a big, bright personality! One of the mechanics was kind enough to try and find me a car-charger while my phone was dying (even going to get it from his own car). Their waiting room is horrible, (obviously not designed by a woman!) with old magazines, broken tiles, dirty floors and a gum ball machine that has gum in it from 2001, but it is an easy sacrifice and trade for the professionalism, personal experience, and great customer service these guys offer. The price to fix my car was reasonable, and they made sure I knew EXACTLY what was going on every step of the way. My "check engine" light is off for the first time in 2 years! THANKS North Hollywood Auto Repair! You are my new "go to" guys for anything car-related even though you are a ways from my area. I will travel for good, honest service.
